Digital technologies amplify what is happening in other environments (e.g. family and school) and can influence the way that children and young people live, learn, relate and grow. This presentation will amplify the eSafety issues in schools and the need to approach online safety education as a whole-of-community responsibility to keep students safe.

Nicky Sloss has more than 20 years of experience working as an education specialist, supporting schools both in Australia and overseas. She is experienced in project management, having worked on statewide initiatives and government-funded projects with links to student safety, mental health, and wellbeing at AISNSW before moving to eSafety.
Nicky is currently the Manager of eSafety’s Education team. This team oversees eSafety’s National Online Safety Education Council representing all three education sectors in each State and Territory and Youth Council. The team ensures that young people’s voice is front and centre in program and policy development and supports targeted and contemporary online safety resources and professional learning for early years through to the tertiary sector.
