Wellbeing
Student Wellbeing at Hills is embedded into our daily experiences to enable all children and young people to feel supported and to feel a strong sense of belonging. When young people have a strong sense of wellbeing, they feel connected to others and they are more likely to develop safe and trusting relationships. This in turn allows them to achieve better physical, emotional, social and educational outcomes.
Student Wellbeing at Hills Grammar is a comprehensive whole school approach and aims to:
- assist everyone to both feel good and to function optimally
- enhance the development of a School environment where everyone feels safe, valued, engaged and that they have a purpose
- deliver a curriculum which provides children and young people with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and to develop positive values, attitudes and behaviours
- provide access to structures designed to identify and support everyone, in particular those dealing with learning, social, emotional or wellbeing needs
- establish partnerships with parents and other wellbeing specialists to ensure appropriate assessment of and intervention for students
- support and strengthen academic, wellbeing and co-curricular learning outcomes
- provide young people with access to opportunities that promote wellbeing
- develop in all students the School’s values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence
The Student Wellbeing program is underpinned by the philosophy of Positive Psychology and is guided by our PRISM Model.
