Jackie Becher

Principal, St Andrew’s School (SA)

After an extensive national and international search conducted by Hutton Consulting Australia, the St Andrew’s School Board has announced the appointment of Jackie Becher (‘Becker’) as the next Principal of the school, to commence in 2021.

With more than 20 years’ experience gained both in Australia and overseas, Jackie has most recently been leading EtonHouse International Education Group as Executive Director of Pedagogy and Executive Principal since 2014, across 60 schools in the Asia Pacific region. Jackie’s extensive experience in offering curriculum support, supervision and evaluation complements her deep commitment to pedagogical knowledge, innovation and empowering leadership.

Recognised as an expert in Reggio Emilia and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), Jackie also organises the Reggio Emilia Asia Pacific conferences and holds strong connections with educators and researchers globally.

Jackie’s Australian experience includes working across Western Australia, where she contributed to the national conversation in education through advisory groups for curriculum. Her work in remote schools was acknowledged by the WA Primary Principals’ Association with a ‘Leading from the Front’ Innovation Award for excellence in remote, regional and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education. During her time as Deputy Principal at Aubin Grove Primary School in Perth, Jackie was awarded the WA Primary Principals’ Association ‘Level 3 Innovations Award’ for excellence in leadership.
