After a comprehensive search, led by Hutton Consulting Australia, Loreto College has announced that Dr Michael Boot has been appointed as the Head of Learning and Innovation, beginning in May 2021
Dr Boot’s breadth of senior leadership experience, knowledge and passion for engaging and empowering young people, together with his international and national experience in leading innovation in schools, make him an ideal educational leader to continue the development of a cutting edge curriculum meeting the needs of the girls at Loreto.
Dr Boots has significant experience in educational leadership. He has recently finished a five year term as Head of International School of Curibita in Brazil, where he led the successful re-imaging of the school’s vision and mission to implement a student led, inquiry based curriculum through the pedagogical frameworks of IB (International Baccalaureate) and project based learning. The school achieved the status of being named by the University of Cambridge as one of the most innovative schools globally, and has partnerships in place with Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities.
Prior to his time leading the International School of Curibita, Dr Boots held leadership roles across middle school and senior school in Tasmania, Kuwait and Jakarta. He is an experienced presenter, having also presented at international Women in Leadership conferences and as the father to two teenage daughters, (Lili and Sophia) Michael actively supports the empowerment of young women.
Dr Boots is well qualified, having completed a Doctorate in Education, Masters Of Education, Certificate of International school leadership, Certificate of Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Education. Loreto College welcomes Dr Boots and his family to Adelaide and look forward to also welcoming him into the Loreto community.
