Following a national search, St Columba College has announced Darren Pitt as the new Deputy Principal, commencing in 2021. Darren is a warm, values driven and authentic leader, with particular strengths in building positive relationships and culture.
Darren has an outstanding record in school leadership, having previously held leadership positions at both St Peter’s College and Seymour College in Adelaide before being appointed Principal of The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) in Queensland. There, he led a strategic whole school focus on improving teaching and learning which saw the College placed as the best performing academic school in Queensland in 2017. He re-structured the Primary curriculum, taught in Primary, whilst leading the new pedagogical direction of the Middle Years programs and addressing issues in staff development, marketing, consistency of approaches to teaching and learning, and increasing student agency.
Darren is a visible leader, well-liked and respected by his colleagues who describe him as being of great integrity, a deep thinker and someone always looking to create the best learning opportunities for students.
