Shortlisted as a finalist in the 2018 Regional School of the Year, and again in 2019, Scots is seeking a strong relational educational leader who will inspire a passion for learning within the whole Senior School community and understands that a student’s academic success is underpinned by a comprehensive wellbeing program.

Beginning in 2020, the successful candidate will collaborate and lead a compelling vision for secondary school learning, student engagement and school wellbeing. Supported by a team of dedicated leaders and reporting directly to the Principal, the Head of Senior School will lead innovation in teaching and learning practice, professional learning for staff, contemporary assessment and reporting processes, and will be committed to empowering students and staff to have agency of their own learning.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Play an active role in the leadership, development and implementation of the current and future pedagogical strategies and objectives for the Senior School, including possible implementation of the IB Middle Years Programme.
Provide leadership and guidance in facilitating a contemporary Professional Staff Growth program, ensuring the needs of colleagues are consistently met in regards to inspiring teaching excellence.
Lead a contemporary approach to assessment for learning and reporting procedures.
Develop an innovative vision for Digital Technologies and support staff in implementing a range of tools in the classroom.
Engage and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external community stakeholders.
Provide leadership and responsive care for students and staff in their wellbeing.
Respond strategically and proactively to the changing education sector, lead innovation collaboratively and model a positive approach to change.
