The Head of Physical Education (P-12) is a dynamic leadership role that will elevate the physical education curriculum and programs across all grade levels. The Head of PE position will lead a team who drive student engagement in the pursuit of personal and academic excellence. The Head will craft a culture that values positive learning habits, agile mindsets, reflective practice and collaborative approaches to learning and teaching. The Head of PE proactively engages with the evaluation of teacher capabilities, ensures seamless integration of technology for enriched learning experiences, manages assessment and reporting processes, and exemplifies the highest standards of communication throughout the school community. The Head of Physical Education is a crucial educational leadership role that reports to the Director of Learning and Curriculum. This is a pivotal role in fostering holistic student achievement and success through a well-rounded curriculum.
The Head of Physical Education’s (P-12) key responsibilities encompass several critical areas. These include formulating scope, sequence and course documentation within the department, actively participating in strategic discussions about MLC’s educational priorities, managing budgets and overseeing the implementation of Canvas-based courses to optimize student learning. Additionally, the Head will collaborate with Heads of Department and Learning Diversity to accommodate students’ unique needs, conduct classroom observations to enhance instructional quality, and facilitate the recruitment and induction of new staff.

All candidates must be VIT registered and those well-versed with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, International Baccalaureate and Victorian Curriculum of Education will be at an advantage.
