Located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Strathcona Girls Grammar has the reputation of a strongly connected community of learners. Catering for girls and boys in the ELC and girls only from Prep to Year 12, the school accommodates approximately 800 students.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the effective use of digital technologies in learning and teaching and contribute to the development and implementation of the digital technologies curriculum. This role has both a pedagogy focus including eLearning and, technology tools, and a content focus with its own skills and knowledge, understanding and creating new/custom tools. This role will ideally require strong knowledge in the learning areas of digital systems, data and information and digital solutions.

The Head of Digital Learning will lead with vision, fostering cohesion as they work across teams to engage in and develop teaching strategies which have a high impact on student learning and growth. They will work collaboratively with Heads of Department to actively explore cross-curricular links and engaging content. They will drive digital learning within all learning areas. As a member of the Academic Leadership Team, they will engage in the development of a shared understanding of outstanding leadership practices and proactively seek feedback in order to reflect on and grow their leadership skills.

Ideally beginning in Term 2, 2023 (or with a negotiated earlier start date if possible), the successful candidate will lead through empowerment of others and enjoy actively engaging with the whole community.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to lead in strategic planning, implementation, and review
  • A capacity to work collaboratively with key leaders to drive improvement in student learning outcomes
  • Proven experience in delivering professional development sessions in learning technologies
  • An ability to work collaboratively and in consultation with IT Services
  • Proven experience and knowledge in teaching Digital Technologies and meaningfully incorporating them into a variety of disciplines
  • Excellent collaboration skills, coupled with outstanding leadership capacity
  • Proven experience as an accomplished teacher
