Sacred Heart College (Geelong) seeks a dynamic and relational executive assistant to the Principal with exceptional executive level experience.

Located in Newtown, Geelong, Sacred Heart College is a Catholic secondary school for girls. It has operated on the same 6.6 hectare site since it was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1860. In 2021, Sacred Heart has enrolments of 1,502 students drawn from all socio-economic areas of Geelong and its wider environs. The Executive Assistant will work in partnership with the Principal providing executive level support and coordination. The Executive Assistant performs a full range of clerical, administrative and project development support functions, including prompt, courteous and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the smooth and effective administration of the Principal’s office. In undertaking their duties, the Executive Assistant will demonstrate confidence, flexibility, reliability and an unwavering commitment to the College’s evolving vision for education.

This is a fast paced and dynamic role requiring someone with the capacity to manage multiple tasks from the simple to the complex. The preferred candidate will have the capacity to maintain a warm, confident approachable demeanour in the midst of a vibrant school community. Exceptional time management and forward planning skills, along with a holistic approach to supporting the needs of the Principal and her office. The ability to maintain confidentiality, understand the complex workings of a school and ensure a high level of hospitality is essential.

Reporting directly to the Principal, the successful candidate will be a proactive and collaborative professional with executive level experience able to demonstrate:

Strategic thinking and the ability to align with the College’s vision, mission, values and Strategic Plan

  • Expertise in managing all aspect of administration and executive support responsibilities.
  • Capacity to work with collaborative motivated teams, lead projects and manage change.
  • Exceptional communication skills across written, spoken and IT platforms
  • Effective stakeholder management and excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to network within and external to the College community
  • An understanding of and commitment to the principles of Catholic education
