Senior Education Consultant

Southern Cross Grammar (SCG) is an independent, co-educational school of the 21st century. Located in Melbourne’s north-west growth corridor, SCG promotes human centred principles in the design of inclusive and personalised approaches to learning for every one of its 800+ students from F – 12.

Technology is ubiquitous at SCG. The school’s outstanding educators work in state-of-the-art facilities and excel at facilitating student learning. SCG’s context is technologically rich, where each student is immersed in the use of the latest innovations to augment their educational experience and outcomes.

With a mandate to innovate, the Director of ICT is responsible for identifying, implementing, and maximising the extraordinary opportunities afforded by generational advancements in technology. The Director will champion conditions for creative thinking, where technological endeavour is recognized, valued and rewarded.

Tellingly, this newly created role within the school leadership team reflects a strategic organisational intent to relentlessly pursue and deliver a frontier ICT strategy, one that is truly bespoke as exemplified by several existing cutting-edge programs.

Importantly, this role has a dual focus. From an educational perspective, the Director of ICT is responsible for all ICT across the entire curriculum, as well as in pedagogical practice. Operationally, the Director is responsible for all ICT related business policies, processes, programs and practices.

As a digi-integrator, the Director of ICT transforms possibilities into opportunities. The Director bridges vision and practice to nurture a teaching and learning culture that is inclusive, transdisciplinary and real world relevant.

The Director of ICT is an expert collaborative leader who combines tech-savvy expertise with an innate ability to connect, teach and inspire. The successful candidate role models the knowledge, skills, attributes and aptitudes for others to use, create or customise ICT tools; engages positively with staff, inspires students and key stakeholders alike; promotes a shared understanding of outstanding practices; adopts a consultative approach to the design and implementation of strategy, and builds capacity in others by fostering a cohesive and supportive learning environment underpinned by meaning and purpose.

The Director of ICT will ideally be a proven and accomplished educator.

The position will report to the Principal for all matters relating to strategy and curriculum and the Director of Corporate Services for all other operational matters.

With a flexible start date (preferably starting asap), there is an opportunity to negotiate a teaching allotment should the successful candidate be VIT registered.

Southern Cross Grammar has a zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to acting in children’s best interests and keeping them safe from harm.
