Cornish College is one of the leading innovative, co-educational, independent schools in Victoria, located on 42 hectares of parkland next to the National Water Sports Centre adjacent to the suburbs of Patterson Lakes and Chelsea. Associated with the Uniting Church, Cornish College opened in 2012 and offers programs from ELC to Year 12.

With a strong emphasis on respecting the individual differences of each student, the College strives to see all young people thriving in the areas in which they have special aptitude. In line with this thinking the College offers vibrant programs from the Reggio Emilia approach to education in the early years,  International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and a multidisciplinary, concept driven and inquiry-based program in the senior school. Cornish College is committed to their vision for educating for a sustainable future.

Due to the continued growth of the College, an opportunity has arisen for a visionary leader to collaborate with the Senior Leadership team in creating a sustainable vision for powerful learning. Commencing in Term 1, 2020, the Deputy Principal – Innovation and Design will have the motivation, commitment and ability to lead the community in the exciting next phase of the School’s development. Working directly with the Principal, the Deputy Principal – Innovation and Design will be an influential, energetic, positive, creative and visible leader within the School community, able to inspire and motivate colleagues and students to take a risk with their learning.  Additionally, the ability to develop strong community and industry partnerships to enhance learning opportunities for staff and students is a key component of this role. It is essential for the successful applicant to have a focus on student-centred learning, and a strong understanding of emerging trends and best practice in national and international contexts.

‘When we educate for a sustainable future, we make a commitment to design curriculum that is meaningful and transferable; we make a commitment to engage learners in a world beyond topics and textbooks toward globally accessible understandings; we make a commitment not to rush but to thoughtfully gather the learning that can fill our senses with wonder giving us time to inquire and delve deeply into what makes us curious.’  Nicola Forrest, Principal, Cornish College

Cornish College is committed to child safety. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to satisfy child protection screening, and adhere to the School’s Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct. These documents may be downloaded from the School’s website.
