Dean of Teaching and Learning Strathcona Girls Grammar School (VIC)

Located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Strathcona Girls Grammar has the reputation of a strongly connected community of learners where students achieve excellent academic and co-curricular results. Catering for girls and boys in the ELC and girls only from Prep to Year 12, the school accommodates approximately 800 students across three campuses; Junior, Year 9 and Senior. The primary purpose of the position is to drive a strategic, collaborative and research-based approach to the improvement of student learning outcomes and pathway opportunities driven specifically through leadership excellence, effective teacher practice, staff collaboration and the provision of highest quality learning programs. Guided by the strategic plan and in partnership with key stakeholders, the Dean of Teaching and Learning articulates and shapes Strathcona’s vision and direction for learning, developing a whole school pedagogical framework integrating teaching, learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students.

The Dean of Teaching and Learning is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reports to the Principal, whilst working closely and collaboratively with the Deputy Principal, Senior Dean of Learning Futures, Dean of Students and Head of Junior School.

Ideally beginning in Term 1, 2023 (or with a negotiated start date), the successful candidate will lead through empowerment of others, enjoy actively engaging with the whole community and have a passion for innovating in middle years curriculum.
