Kempsey Adventist School is seeking a dynamic, relational Christian leader to shape wellbeing and pastoral care.

The Assistant Principal- Wellbeing Communities (Years 5-12) will support the Principal in providing both strategic and day-to-day leadership in developing the schools strategic direction of wholistic growth for students in Years 5-12. The core purpose of the job is to work with Community Team leaders and staff to create a sense of belonging within the school community based on quality relationships. The Assistant Principal- Wellbeing Communities works closely with the School Executive and supports the Principal in the leadership of KAS and may assume the role of Acting Deputy Principal in the absence of the Deputy Principal.
This role will lead the transition to a vertical pastoral system (Communities) designed to support, and proactively engage in the wellbeing needs of students. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, relational leader, with a clear capacity to engage in the broader School community able to demonstrate:
- Ethical and courageous leadership which supports the mission and ethos of the School.
- Strategic and creative capacity to lead, implement and engage the Staff in innovation and improvement
- Expertise in contemporary wellbeing practice and pastoral care structures
- Outstanding collaborative and consultative skills across the School community
- Capacity to attract and develop staff and nurture a culture of growth to drive improvement
- Emotional intelligence, adaptability and a future focused mindset
