Wesley College is seeking a relational, organised and experienced Admissions Manager to join its Admissions Team.

Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia’s leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from three-year olds to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes, and the Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School in the Kimberley, Western Australia.

The Wesley College Admissions team is responsible for enrolling domestic and international day and boarding students as well as students for the Enhanced Language Preparation Programme. The Admissions Manager (St Kilda Road and Elsternwick) is a key role within the Marketing and Admissions team and is pivotal to the commercial success of the College. The Admissions Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Admissions team to deliver against application and enrolment targets and implement policies, processes and procedures that align with the strategic direction and needs of the College. The post holder will oversee the day-to-day management of the campus admissions office including the tasks associated with enquiries, enrolment and the pre-commencement processes. This position reports to the Head of Admissions and has key relationships with the Heads of St Kilda Road and Elsternwick Campuses and the respective Heads of School.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced applicant who enjoys a collaborative working environment, with opportunities to lead, manage, innovate and build key and ongoing relationships with current, prospective and new students and their families.  This role encompasses admissions leadership, customer relationship management, data maintenance and reporting and process improvement.

With a negotiated start, the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively with all stakeholders within the school community.  A strong ability to engage prospective parents in the school’s vision through highly developed verbal and written skills is essential.

The Admissions Manager will ideally have an academic qualification, or a demonstrated understanding of different academic programs offered by the College.

Key selection criteria include:

  • Proven experience as a highly competent administrator with the organisational capacity to oversee the end-to-end administration and management of various processes.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated database and computer competency
  • Experience in an educational environment and/or with international students.
  • Leadership experience in small team environments
  • Flexibility, adaptability and enthusiasm for a dynamic work environment
